What is the difference between Gold Fill and Gold Plated jewelry?
Gold fill jewelry contains 100x more gold alloy than gold plated jewelry. It is more durable and stands up to wear and tear better than gold plated. We use 14K gold filled chains.
How do you clean gold filled jewelry?
Use an untreated cloth or mild soapy water. Do not scrub the piece. Only clean if you must. The best practices to keep your jewelry clean are:
- Store in a separate box or bag.
- Remove before bed.
- Keep away from water.
- Avoid direct contact with perfume or lotion
- Remove when bathing or showering
Will my sterling silver necklace tarnish?
Sterling silver will oxidize. This is not a reflection of poor quality. Oxidation is subject to the moisture in the air, the chemical composition of your skin, if you wear it when sweating or moist, and the weather, but it is easy to remove! You can easily clean sterling silver jewelry with a jewelry cleaning cloth or jewelry cleaning solution, or take it to a jeweler for cleaning.
Gold, Silver, and Rose Gold Cuff Bracelets
Our silver tone cuffs are made of aluminum. They will not tarnish.
Our gold and rose gold tone cuffs are made of brass and copper respectively. They will tarnish over time. Some people like this vintage look, and some don't! To keep your cuff looking shiny and new, you can clean it with ketchup. Simply coat your bracelet in ketchup and let it sit for a few minutes. The acidity in the ketchup will eat away the tarnish. Wash off and dry completely.
