The Pebble & Dime brand itself has evolved a lot since its inception in 2015, but most importantly, so has my business philosophy.
Through years of university and general life trial and error, I finally discovered that what I enjoy the most is business and thus, P & D was born. But I could never shake this somewhat guilty feeling that was following me around once I started this business journey. I couldn't help feeling like it was hypocritical of me to try and make a living by pushing the sales of honestly unnecessary things, when I myself try to live of my life as minimally as possible.
Although I find marketing really interesting, I myself can't justify trying to sell stuff to the masses by using sales psychology. And so, my business model is really an anti-business model. It may not make sense, but that's OK. I keep making things because I like it. Because it keeps me sane. Because what the hell else would I do if I wasn't designing and making things? Buy it if you like it, and don't if you don't. That is up to you.
I am Vivian, Winnipeg born and raised, lover of red wine, maker of things. Welcome.
